I have the vertex chip installed in my otherwise stock 2011 Subaru Forester XT Touring (turbo). From the moment I installed the chip I noticed smoother idle, more pull in the low ranges, and larger swings in the fuel efficiency meter. For those of you unfamiliar with the Forester, in the third gen it has a fuel efficiency meter that moves up or down from zero, indicating better or worse than average mileage. If I drive like Grandpa would drive HIS Forester, I get about 4 miles to the gallon better than I was getting (24MPG). However, when I drive like I drive MY Forester, I get a couple miles less than I had been getting…lol (16MPG). Fair trade, I think.
